Window to My Soul speaks of the writer's internal battle of what people want from her and expect from her and what she wants for herself.
She writes about relationships, love, and desires. How you might feel you have assumed so much about yourself and your feelings only to come to realize you knew yourself so little. In a way, I think she's talking about this lie as little girls we are sold of true love and "The One". How it is supposed to be perfect and smooth order. But it is so not in real life. Human, we tend to let people down maybe not on purpose but we do. Because life is beautifully messy. I love the poem about being in a crowd and feeling alone. It was like she was talking about how I feel when I am in a crowd. In short she talks about a lot of relatable issues that we at some point in our life felt this way or another'.I think that readers will come away from reading this and not feel so alone and isolated from the world and go like "Wait, you too?"
A deep, thought provoking collection. I think all of us can identify with the emotions in this book at one time or another in our lives.
Good read, but not for the shallow or faint of heart! This is an excellent read for anyone who feels deeply the pain and joy that life brings us in different seasons. The author pours out her heart in poetry that is both brutally honest and poignant. Like all good books should, Window To My Soul left me feeling a little less “alone” in my experiences in this world.
I have had the honor of reading Ms. Pennywell's work before she released this amazing collection of emotional poems that touched me from page one. I am more than impress by her poetic talent, because she has made me a fan of poetry. Anyone that knows me, know that I try to avoid poetry with a passion. Now I can't wait to read her next book!
